WordTwist’s scoring
My friends got me playing WordTwist on Facebook, and I started playing it in "ladder" mode. That's where you sorta compete against your friends and see if you can get the highest score. Well, one of my friends had a score of 181, which seemed pretty amazing. I'd try and try and get nowhere near it. Of course, I'd frequently only get 12 or 15 words out of 30-odd words. Sometimes I'd have a good round, but it was rare for me to break 100 points in a single round.
Finally I decided I had to cheat and see what the maximum score was. It turns out to be really easy, but I'm not going to reveal it all here and now.
Stuff I’m reading lately
I'm reading some pretty funny sites lately:
- EngrishFunny
- Stuff that gets lost in translation. - Photoshop Disasters - Attempts to do great things with Photoshop that go horribly wrong.
- Graph Jam - Fun people make crazy graphs about pop culture.
- How Many of Me - How many people have my exact name? Hint there are 1 or fewer people with the name "Paco Hope."
Superbowl not a victory for writers
The guys over at nfl.com wrote a doozie:
The Giants had the perfectly game plan for defeating the Patriots as they sprung one of the greast upsets in NFL history, if not the greatest.
Here's a screen capture, in case they fix it:

The original words are at the bottom of the nfl.com game recap.
New JoomlaCode Project
My script for importing a bunch of pages into Joomla has matured some. It's now the bulkimport project at JoomlaCode. Anyone using the old version of my script should probably watch the new project from now on.
Additional iPhone Review: a Few Qualms
Ok, in 24 hours of use, my iPhone review uncovers a few more limitations. I could have titled this "Things my Treo 650 will do that my iPhone won't." I think of the Treo as a pretty poor user interface. So, when there are things that it will do that my iPhone won't, that's a disappointment.
