International First Class
Paul, over at The Daily Ping, just blogged about flying business class. Nevermind that the title of his post is "Flying First Class." It prompted me to write the story of the one time I flew Internstional First Class—a league unto itself.
A letter from a Father to a Son
Many years ago, my own father found a copy of this letter and gave it to me. For reasons too complex to get into here, it touched me. I have remembered most of it ever since. I was pleased, therefore, to find it on the Internet again. When I searched, I found about 5 different versions of it. Clearly people had been modifying it slightly to fit their own purposes. The version I reprint here is the version as close as I can remember it from the 1980s.
Photos available on BigStockPhoto.com
I've put a bunch of my photos up on BigStockPhoto.com. It seems like a pretty decent site. It lets photographers like me (and people who are WAY better than me) post stock photos and earn a commission whenever someone downloads them. You can search for my photos online and buy them relatively cheaply with a really liberal, royalty free license.
Beastie Pumpkin
Yanek Korff, who co-authored Mastering FreeBSD and OpenBSD Security with me, carved a fantastic beastie pumpkin at his pumpkin carving party in 2005.
Article published in IEEE Security and Privacy
I cowrote an article on misuse cases, a topic in software engineering. It appears in the June 2004 edition of IEEE Security and privacy. You can read it online at the IEEE web site.
