Guess these movies when the faces have been removed

This is a spreadsheet that has been floating around the net recently. I just got it from some friends, via email. I don't think it has any virus in it, but you're on your own there.

Movies.jpg

It shows you 72 still pictures from 72 different movies, but the faces have all been erased. I think this is really cool. I wish I knew who did it!

You can download the spreadsheet here.

If you type in the correct name of the movie, the word TRUE appears. But you have to type it exactly right. Capitalization doesn't matter, but words like "the" and punctuation both matter.

Spoilers!

If you get frustrated and want the spoilers, here you go.
It turns out that the answers are in the spreadsheet, but password protected. I bypassed the protection. Here are two sets of spoilers.

Just a little nudge

This is just the list of movies, but in alphabetical order. In this way you know which movies are in the list, but you don't know which pictures go to which movies.

These spoilers are unfortunately necessary, because the maker of this spreadsheet used some dubious titles for movies. E.g. A Knights Tale instead of A Knight's Tale (the spreadsheet leaves out the apostrophe). If you type it correctly, the spreadsheet will say you're wrong.

The true spoiler

This lists all the movies in order. I think most people can probably get it without using this list. You can figure out the movies you don't know through process of elimination.

Enjoy!

  1. This is really cool, but where can i find the answers…??? I could only guess like 7! pathetic huh?

  2. Ok. I put the spoilers up. 7 answers is hardly pathetic.

  3. Someone forwarded me this at work. Took a little google work to find out where it came from. Very good work, I refuse (so far) to look up the answers.

  4. I guessed all I could then printed out the list, which, I might add, has only 71 titles on it. Fortunately the one that is left off was one I guessed so not too bad.
I’ve sent this to lots of friends. It’s really a fun thing to do. Now I’m heading for the “Name That Theme Song” thing. Sounds interesting!

  5. You know the problem? Half of these movies are spelled wrong. A quick search on IMDB will show you that…

I WOULD HAVE GOTTEN UNFORGIVEN IF THEY HADN’T PUT A DAMNED “THE” IN FRONT OF THE ACTUAL NAME OF THE MOVIE!!!!!!

Although, I did get 46 initially.

  6. The movie missing from your spoilers list is #37, one that we all know, but the addition would make your list complete (72 movies). THANK YOU for sharing spoilers – I was going crazy!

  7. I’m amazed that anyone needed a list to figure this out. The spreadsheet was VERY poorly done from the point of view of hiding the answers. Simply clicking on the result cell (TRUE/FALSE) revealed the formula and therefore the reference cell for the answer. Then typing = with the cell reference populated the answer cell with the answer. How much easier could it have been??
