Tovaris

I was the Director of Product Development for Tovaris for about 18 months. I managed a group of six programmers on a fascinating encrypted email server.

We did our best to run Extreme Programming (XP) as our software engineering methodology. For a variety of reasons, it sorta broke down. I think the methodology is sound, but it takes good leadership.

I did some pretty neat work there implementing an X.509 PKI using DNS (BIND 9 from the ISC) to distribute individual certificates. Pretty cool.
